Choupette Has a Dyson Blow-Dryer, But These Dogs Have Insta-Grooming on Lockdown

News has spread today that Choupette, fashion’s first cat (the adopted animal progeny of Karl Lagerfeld), has secured Dyson’s yet-to-be-released-in-the-U.S., groundbreakingly silent blow-dryer. Impressive as it may be, that’s merely one check in the grooming box for cats. After all, dogs have long had the glam squad routine on lockdown.

In fact, a quick scroll through your Instagram feed will prove what civilized K9s have always known: The best way to beat the heat this season is to cool down with a relaxing beauty ritual. For Ryan McGinley’s dog, Dick, that means taking a break from a sun-soaked Nolita walk with a manicure (or is it a pedicure?) at Valley Nails. Uptown at the Park Hyatt, Toast (of @toastmeetsworld fame) and Amanda Hearst’s Chiweenie, Finn, had a similar plan, ditching a muggy afternoon for a personally tailored mini-spa staycation, complete with bathrobes. According to pals Harlow and Reese and Lena Dunham’s best friend, Lamby, a dip in water is just as refreshing indoors and out. The clients of Jess Rona Grooming love a good blowout, no matter how loud or volumizing it may be. But today we’ll be taking our cues from Lola the Frenchie Puppy by cranking up the AC and blocking out the light for just a few more precious hours.
