Is Blue Eye Shadow Paris’s Newest Street Style Star?

street style

The best part about the beauty looks walking down the Spring 2016 runways is that, unlike the clothes, you can start wearing your favorite hair and makeup right away. Case in point is one of the boldest trends of the season, blue eye shadow, which, city by city, is cementing itself as an irresistible force. Appearing first in New York, the pigment popped on the eyes of Emily Ratajkowski and Beth Ditto at Marc Jacobs before crossing the pond for Jonathan Saunders—who chose to rim models’ eyes with a tight line of the electric shade. By Milan, makeup artist Lucia Pieroni was doling out generous smears of neon across eyelids for Missoni. And now, in Paris, while the hue continues to take shape on runways (see Dries Van Noten’s sparkling confections), it’s becoming a street style star in its own right. For your own effortless Saturday night beauty look, pair with minimal makeup and a swipe of mascara—or a bold red lip for something a little more daring. Above, six shadows to try tonight and wear until next spring.
