Montauk’s popular, summer-only Love Yoga Studio may have shut its doors until next year, but fans of the stylish space have a new reason to hit the beach: Owner Sian Gordon is opening a permanent Love outpost in Los Angeles’s Venice on October 4. Like its Hamptons sibling, the new location is sure to draw the fashion flock: Gordon’s partner in the project is fellow yogi, surf enthusiast, and L.A. native Kyle Miller, whose playful teaching style has garnered a bicoastal cult following that includes Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen, models Maryna Linchuk and Noah Mills, artists Nate Lowman and Dan Colen, and DJs Harley Viera-Newton and Hannah Bronfman.

Situated on an up-and-coming strip of Lincoln Boulevard near such stylish storefronts as Superba Food & Bread, General Store, and Flowerboy Project, the airy, light-filled studio embodies the beachy-hip Venice aesthetic with plants galore, a front desk crafted from a thousand-year-old piece of cedar, colorful murals by Topanga-based artist and designer Carly Margolis, bright turquoise floors meant to evoke the Caribbean, and a playlist that veers from Grimes and Lykke Li to Ethiopian jazz to Fleetwood Mac. “We really want to blow the cobwebs out of the traditional yoga studio and bring in a party vibe,” Miller says.

The classes are similarly free-spirited. “This is not power yoga,” Gordon says. “The yoga at Love will lean more in the direction of grace and flow, much like a surfer dropping into a wave.” On the menu are New Love (for first-timers and those wanting to reconnect with the fundamentals), Love Flow (an open Vinyasa class), and Tough Love (for advanced students or “those folks who just want to get mad strong,” Miller says). “What makes Kyle and her practice stand out is the way you feel after,” says Ashley Olsen. “There is an enlightenment physically and mentally that one walks away with that is very hard to find. Her teaching resonates with me, keeps me grounded and inspires me.”
