Known for the kind of aristocratic pallor that requires an iron-willed discipline for slathering on sunblock and shunning high-noon rays, Rooney Mara tends to favor a cool-toned swirl of blush or a gothic oxblood lip. Yesterday in New York, however, the actress opted for an uncharacteristically warm palette, pairing a wash of copper shadow with tawny, sculpted cheeks and an allover glow that offered definitive proof that a bit of bronzer makes everything better. Her swept-back hair was also a departure from the razor-sharp parts and graphic bangs that she has made her signature.
