Last night’s Tom Ford show was as timelessly modern as it gets, featuring nipped waists, statement belts, and above-the-knee leather boots which will remain imminently wearable for years to come; but above the neck, the designer’s favorite era—the ’70s—provided a cool throwback contrast. We’re talking about the curly-haired, mop-topped male models that walked the runway, from self-proclaimed “golden child” Michael Lockley to musician-turned-model Trè Samuels, along with Anthony-Kiedis-lookalike Miles McMillan—who traded in his shoulder-skimming lengths for a head of shortened boyish texture earlier this year—and the ever-smoldering Yassine Rahal.
Such scene-stealing, ringlet-fueled boy power has also been dominating our Instagram feeds of late: Christopher Paskowski’s baby face and chestnut brown kinks are the very definition of fresh, while Naleye Junior’s freckles only enhance the charm of his face-framing bedhead. Those looking for top knot inspiration would do well to keep an eye out for Pedro Roman, whose extra-textured man bun game is so aspirational—and high-reaching—it’s almost otherworldly.
Above, the coil-haired male models we want to see more of on the runways this week.
