Saying goodbye to August is always bittersweet, but this week’s best beauty Instagrammers took the unofficial season switch in stride. Vanessa Axente showed off the results of extreme toning while lounging catlike by a welcoming pool; while Andreea Diaconu and Lily Aldridge opted for beach-bound day trips instead—Diaconu for a bit of surfing with artist Cass Bird and Aldridge for some quality mommy-and-me time with her daughter, Dixie (the duo showed off big grins, power brows, and the type of mussed updos summer is known for).
Model Mari Giudicelli raised the bar on sunny-day accessories with a pair of oversize blue shades, which, when offset by a pinky peach lip and messy ombré chop, perfectly captured her “It’s still summer” caption. Zendaya’s super-sleek cornrows served as a reminder that texture is key in warm-weather temps, as did Imaan Hammam’s mane-centric mini movie, which starred the stunner as she shook, scrunched, and fluffed her trademark cloud of curls.
But it was Kaia Gerber’s end-of-August image that had us facing up to the realities of September: Cindy Crawford’s daughter posted a self-facing snap featuring amber-lensed sunnies, a white leather choker, and a full-on pout. The reason? Gerber has the “back 2 school blues.” Still, we’ve got a few more days until fall takes over, so give us sun-kissed skin, windswept hair, and short shorts through Labor Day.
