The Only 14 Beauty Products You Need to Buy This Fall

fall beauty

September is prime time for a wardrobe refresh, and that yearly closet cleanout so often brings with it a yen for a new beauty routine, too—this year more than ever, thanks in part to the tidal wave of game-changing product launches that each promise a fresh start to the season.

There’s Rouge Dior’s new Couture Colour, which renders the lip a plush matte for 16 hours in one of the house’s iconic reds, or a rather unorthodox navy. Tom Ford’s metallic cream shadows provide an equally pretty pop of petal pink or burnished copper on the lid, perhaps best painted on with one of Sonia Kashuk’s ivory-bristled brushes. For a pitch-perfect canvas, Lancôme’s spin on the cushion compact is a long-wearing, high-coverage foundation option. Givenchy, too, has put an innovative twist on a cosmetic classic with a three-sphere mascara brush that hugs each lash, while cult natural skin-care brand Context has expanded its range to include eight glossy nail lacquers that are, of course, 5-Free.

On the skin-care scene, La Prairie’s latest essence-in-lotion comes infused with caviar water that, when swept across the face just after cleansing, conditions and refines pores on contact. Then there’s the Magnetight Age-Defier, a next-level mask courtesy of Dr. Brandt, whose iron-based formula comes with an actual magnet that is wrapped in cloth and run over the skin to remove the muddy particles. For something a bit more down to earth, Shiseido’s lifting eye cream and Kiehl’s targeted acne spot pen are two utterly foolproof treatments that fit in your pocket.

And since little things make a big difference, what better way to revamp your regimen than with a dropper of Diptyque’s radiance-boosting Infused Face Oil, with shredded rose petals floating within? Kenzo’s new floral fragrance is another objet for your vanity, thanks to its pale blue evil-eye bottle with gold logo-charm pupil. Others may prefer the results-driven magic of Living Proof’s dry texturizing spray, or the practical appeal of Shu Uemura’s new Urban Moisture line, which includes a vitamin E and UV-protectant serum that shields hair from pollutants and happens to be the prettiest tangerine hue. This Fall, you can have it all.
