This Street-Style Lipstick Prescription Will Change Your Beauty Game In an Instant

Photographed by Phil Oh

Are fluorescent red lips appropriate before dusk? By the looks of New York Fashion Week’s street style scene as captured by photographer Phil Oh, they’re not only safe, but the beauty statement of the season. After all, the power of a high-voltage mouth, and its ability to turn a casual knotted work shirt or floral day dress into a lens-worthy look, is practically untouched.

Jason Wu kicked off the weekend trend with his Friday morning runway show, where models sported ombre red-orange lips on bare skin. Creatures Of The Wind matched the wattage with a similarly bold shade, which utilized bright pink blush pressed over red lips for a super-pigmented boost.

Models like Lida Fox, still wearing a Creatures of The Wind sweater tucked into black microshorts, took the makeup straight to the streets, where fashion’s most photographed It girls were sporting their own iterations of neon pouts. The look is brighter and bolder than your typical red mouth—and a perfectly shocking Sunday afternoon beauty shakeup for a week spent celebrating the fresh, new, and now.
