How to Look Like a Chloé Girl: Decoding the House’s New-Bohemian Beauty Look

Who is the Chloé girl? Since taking the reins in 2011, creative director Clare Waight Keller has infused the 64-year-old house with a distinct romanticism, blending the au naturel beauty of the English rose with a French girl’s laissez-faire hand. As illustrated here by German stunner Josephine Van Delden, this new-bohemian look is all about ease. Long, loose hair holds the faintest wave—which reads more like second-day texture—and is diffused at the ends. Statement lips are nowhere to be found on Chloé’s runways, only the sheerest rose-colored stain to match a petal-like flush on the cheeks. Brows are crucial, too—they’re thick and full, yet carefully groomed to enhance their face-framing power. And on the occasions when the Chloé girl desires a pop of color, metallic coppers and bronze tones on the lids impart a healthy glow—a modern Earth Mother look, à la Parisienne.
