No matter the shade, the only caveat for a sunnier color has been its required upkeep, which is a reality that Victoria Hunter, editorial colorist and co-owner of New York City’s Whittemore House Salon, attributes to strands made porous over time. Fortunately, a new generation of shampoos, conditioners, masks, and serums, is out to remove the high-maintenance connotation associated with a flaxen dye job—targeting specific tones to make maintaining your ideal tint easier to achieve.
