Getting Ready for Valentino With Jessica Alba

jessica alba valentino

Feminine and polished, with a dash of whimsy—a quick-look definition of both Pierpaolo Piccioli’s inaugural solo collection for Valentino and longtime fan of the Italian house Jessica Alba. The actress and Honest Beauty founder jetted to the City of Light to support Piccioli’s solo debut, echoing the swaths of fuchsia and carmine that swept the halls of Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild with a cherry red lace skirt and an equally bold swipe of lipstick. For her above-the-neck look—which drew inspiration from ’50s Americana that colored the brand’s Resort collection—makeup artist Daniel Martin dreamed up a feline flick of eyeliner and a swirl of warming blush, while hairstylist Jennifer Yepez created smooth side-parted waves. The results, according to Alba, were “old American glamour” in Paris, or, in other words, the ideal combination for front row snaps and with-the-designer selfies. Above, Alba shares her getting-ready beauty diary.
