One Street Style Star’s Secret Trick to Staying Camera-Ready

Though Fashion Week may seem like a glamorous mélange of runway shows, decadent dinners, and evening soirees, the monthlong marathon of early call times and jam-packed days can actually be quite grueling. And now, with a horde of photographers capturing the fashion set’s every angle, just how do street style standouts stay camera-ready? While some rely on Gucci’s cat-eye sunnies and Prada’s sailor hats to conceal tired eyes, Veronika Heilbrunner, a Berlin-based creative director oft photographed in flouncy designer dresses and streetwear sneakers, swears by Magicstripes’ eyelid-lifting strips.

“They make my eyes look more open. I look fresher, more awake,” Heilbrunner explains of the adhesive bits that she sticks to the crease of her lids every morning. And although they blend in seamlessly with makeup, she insists that even a coat of nude-color shadow isn’t necessary to hide the transparent patches. “You don’t see the plastic on the eye, but it’s like my face is different. It’s really crazy,” she says. “They actually kind of prevent you from surgery!” And that is a pick-me-up no one could refuse.
