With the dreadlocks debate still in full swing, it looks like Rihanna has taken a side. The quick-change makeover star just debuted a waist-long set on Instagram in an over-the-shoulder mirror selfie captioned “buffalo $oldier,” paying homage to the Bob Marley song (and, by extension, its subject matter) of the same name.
Fresh off of a knee-grazing ponytail for her bow on the Fenty x Puma runway, Rihanna, of course, pulls off the gathered style with aplomb, rocking the swinging mane with the kind of practiced nonchalance innate to a certain class of above-the-neck chameleons. Dreadlocks may be banned from some workplaces, but they certainly look good on beauty’s favorite bad gal. Leave it to Rihanna to make a statement without saying a word.
