Why Low-Back Dresses Call For a New Hair Equation: Karlie Kloss, Anja Rubik, and More

Karlie Kloss

Less overtly sexy than a flash of chiseled abs or gleaming legs peeking out of a high slit, an exposed back oozes a uniquely elegant brand of sensuality that calls for a balanced hair equation.

Take Karlie Kloss, who brought her supermodel A-game to the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund gala in New York City last night with a plunging gown and swingy high ponytail that showcased every inch of her rippling back. Also at the event, Anja Rubik offered one more reason to embrace a chin-length chop with diffused waves that softened the graphic webbing of her dress. Not that long hair necessarily needs to be swept up and out of the way: Hailey Baldwin stepped in front of the cameras with her flat-ironed lengths hitting just above a slightly more demure cutout.
