Disney Princess Beauty: From Snow White’s Perfectly Porcelain Skin to Moana’s Beach-Ready Waves

This week, Disney gave us our first look at Moana—the 16-year-old namesake of the company’s forthcoming animated film—and her photorealistic mane of mahogany waves. Supplemented by a bronzed complexion, bold brows, and a deliberate gaze, this Hawaiian Disney princess breaks the proverbial mold in terms of beauty—but haven’t they all? Each of our favorite fairy-tale royals has offered unique beauty cues, inspiring Halloween costumes, hairstyles, and makeup bags since we were old enough to execute an updo.

While we would wager that naturally minded Moana’s routine consists of a quick spritz of Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray and application of SPF, Snow White may have opted for Laura Mercier’s Invisible Pressed Setting Powder and a daub of apple-scented cream to maintain her porcelain skin. If Aurora’s sleeping curse was prime time for a coating of overnight hair treatment, then Belle’s enviable lashes were the stuff of mascara myth. Who could be more at home with the transformative effect of emerald-to-pink lipstick than Tiana, who once enjoyed a turn as an amphibian? Would Jasmine have suffered through a day without a winged flick of kohl kajal? From a kind-to-the-Earth body oil crafted for Pocahontas’s lithe limbs to a shimmering blue polish that would be right at home in Ariel’s castle under the sea, these products are fit for our favorite Disney princesses.
