This Gym-Inspired Beauty Look Is a Runaway Street Style Hit at Milan Men’s Fashion Week

Is there a better litmus test for the wearable, real-life cool of a runway beauty look than the sight of denim-clad models dashing to their next show in full hair and makeup? If the dewy complexions and gym braids spotted outside the Prada menswear show in Milan yesterday were any indication, we’re in for a fresh summer beauty equation.

Taking glistening athletic skin and flushed cheeks straight to the sidewalk, models like Rianne van Rompaey and Jing Wen, who walked alongside the show’s mostly male cast, channeled the kind of girl who’s more likely to get her outdoor glow from an afternoon run in the city than a day spent basking in the surf. Hair felt just as sporty: Slim braids that were woven diagonally down the crown and finished with a slightly matted halo of baby hairs made the case for wearing your post-gym hair with pride.

But even if leaning into the steamy season is as simple as skipping powder and getting your hair up and out of the way, this wouldn’t be Prada without a thrilling jolt of color. Laurijn Bijnen’s painterly wash of sky blue shadow proved that, smack in the middle of nude makeup season, there’s really no reason to ever be bored.
