As Couture Week regulars know, no place in the world does beauty—in all its forms—quite like Paris. Whether you’re dashing between shows or simply seeing the sights, a treatment at one of the city’s new or recently improved skin-care destinations is just the thing to erase jet lag and the effects of one too many sips of champagne. Here, five Paris day spas that take pampering to a whole new level.
Chanel at the Ritz
The fabled luxury hotel’s recently completed $450 million renovation makes it a must-visit in and of itself. But beauty enthusiasts traveling to Paris would be remiss not to experience the first Chanel day spa in the world, which opens today—and is as decadent as fans of the house would expect. Treatments in the sumptuous chinoiserie-and-lacquer–outfitted space—details that echo Coco’s own apartment—are tailor-made to each client and include healthy juices and specially developed massage techniques. The Grand Soin facial is designed to be the ne plus ultra of Chanel skin care—a smoothing, firming, and glow-boosting treatment that lasts two to three hours. Every service on the menu is followed up with a makeup application using the fashion house’s cultish color collection, but you can also book stand-alone sessions. Don’t leave without stopping by Parisian super stylist David Mallett’s adjacent hair salon.

The Dior Institute at the Plaza Athenee
Ten years after the first Dior spa opened here, the space has recently been refreshed and the treatment menu expanded to include new tissue massage techniques developed to work in synergy with Dior skin-care products, which contain ingredients such as the Granville rose from the garden of the designer’s childhood home in Normandy (now the Christian Dior museum) and more exotic raw materials like Madagascar longoza. The treatment menu’s masterpiece: the two-hour, skin-transforming L’Or de Vie Miracle, a premium holistic scalp-to-shoulders facial combining exfoliation, shiatsu, and sculpting techniques. The Now Look menu focuses on made-to-measure makeovers.

Biologique Recherche
A long-standing favorite among stressed-out fashion designers, makeup pro Tom Pecheux, and other frequent fliers—to the point where the brand has an ambassade de la beauté in the Air France Premiere lounge at Charles de Gaulle Airport—Biologique Recherche has recently taken over the townhouse adjacent to its Champs-Elysées flagship, making it the only beauty institute in Paris to occupy its own private mansion. In addition to the bespoke facials and custom-blended treatments developed in its second-floor haute couture apartment (and made just outside Paris), top treatments include the new Seconde Peau facial with hyaluronic acid–infused patches that replump and revitalize skin. The Lift CVS facial, another remodelage treatment, is said to erase the effects of jet lag and too many champagne-fueled late nights.

Darphin Vendôme Institute
For three generations, the niche botanical brand Darphin has quietly built a following thanks to addictive products like the 8-Flower Nectar essential oil elixir. Its beauty institute, at the back of a courtyard just off the Place Vendôme, got a much-needed spruce-up this spring, and the result is a manor house–style tribute to the French art de vivre, from Mariage Frères tea served in Bernardaud porcelain to the handwoven Elitis wallpaper and bespoke drawings of Paris by calligrapher Nicolas Ouchenir. The menu’s main event is the corrective, holistic L’Institut Divine Signature facial. And while the team of experts on staff will let your skin do the talking for you, Gaëlle speaks English fluently.

Les Bains de Léa
The city’s largest day spa that’s not attached to a hotel, Les Bains de Léa is a members-only club and an à la carte beauty institute in one. There are treatments by Dermalogica and Cinq Mondes, and hair and makeup salons. Plus there’s a downstairs pool, sauna, and hammam; fitness area with private coach; a full-time sushi master; and juice bar. Half-day and day passes are available; book two treatments and you can have the run of the place for the entire day.
