“I love makeup,” Ashley Graham whispers into the camera. The top model and social media powerhouse is here, at the Four Seasons hotel in downtown Manhattan, to reveal her secrets to easy red carpet glamour, which involve an entirely DIY approach. Step one? A solid foundation for pitch-perfect skin, meticulously cared for since Graham was a teenager. “If your skin is looking good, you’re looking good,” she says, grabbing a jar of Nuxe moisturizer to run along her face and neck. “I’ve actually been using eye cream since I was 15 years old.”
Graham has more than a few clever makeup tricks up her sleeve, as well: A hydrating cream blush to keep her cheeks dewy and a pat of bronzer as the perfect earth-toned eyeshadow. “I believe in loads of highlighter,” she adds, slicking it on top of her lip and across the collarbone. “Let’s just draw that in.” That said, the pièce de résistance may be Graham’s tip for immovable brows—a bit of L’Oréal Elnett hair spray, spritzed onto the spoolie and used to brush them up. “These suckers don’t move,” she says. Simply brilliant, much like the woman herself.
