If there was an unofficial beauty dress code for tonight’s Met Gala, “China: Through the Looking Glass,” it was the architectural knot. Combed straight back, parted on the side, or slicked straight down the middle, guests pulled their hair into buns of every placement. Alexa ChungPoppy Delevingne, and Bella Hadid kept theirs close to their heads for an extra-groomed take on the top knot. Meanwhile Emma Roberts, Karolina Kurkova, and Lauren Santo Domingo used centrally located, blunt-finished twists to display their ice blonde highlights. For Keri Russell, Candice Swanepoel, and Amanda Seyfried, a classic low chignon was all they needed to tie together their looks. But leave it to FKA twigs to solidify the trend, unifying her signature twin buns into a singular crown on the top of her head.
