Forget rigorously straight blowouts or fresh-from-the-shower hair—the week’s best beauty looks met the mid-summer heat with a range of rumpled textures, whether these came courtesy of finger-raked waves (Rihanna), a good night’s sleep (Georgia May Jagger) or the Left Bank breeze (Elizabeth Olsen). Makeup was just one notch up from natural, with washes of bronzer, (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley) and flesh-toned lips (Naomie Harris) looking better as the day wore on. Still, it was model Gigi Hadid’s quirky cool glasses and off-kilter ponytail that sparked our imagination—and made us reconsider the radically stylish possibilities of geek chic.
