The Best Street Style Hair from the Paris Couture Shows

Photographed by Phil Oh

If the sculptural quiffs at Fendi and futuristic hairpin constellations at Maison Margiela stoked our imaginations on the couture runways this week, the street style stars flitting down the boulevards of Paris between shows offered an aesthetic that was firmly grounded in reality. Slept-in waves that were rumpled by the Left Bank breeze provided a relaxed counterpoint to ornate clothes and extraordinary set design, and finger-raked ponytails promised to carry editors seamlessly into the next season.

Of course, what’s fashion if not a study in extremes? For a certain kind of front row guest, Parisian polish reigned supreme in the form of slick high buns and easy chignons. As for those bored of their bobs, take note: Swingy shoulder-length layers that grazed the collarbone suggested a fresh, feminine new length that’s entirely attainable by fall.
