Elle Fanning, Cate Blanchett, and Margot Robbie Make the Case for a Softer Pastel Palette

Elle Fanning

Braving the outdoors with bare legs may be the ultimate form of winter rebellion, but judging by Elle Fannings fresh pastel makeup, there are less risky ways to get a head start on spring. The actress paired soft peach lids with a dewy wash of peony blush and matching lip stain at a dinner hosted by Rodarte in Los Angeles last week. Over in Sydney, Cate Blanchett also embraced a watercolor-inspired palette with softly shaded lids and a rosy mauve lipstick that echoed the powdery hue of her silk Alexander McQueen dress at the AACTA Awards. And because pale sixties-inspired pinks were made for evenings spent curled up by the fireplace, Margot Robbie played flushed cheeks and high-beam skin off her cozy turtleneck at the Sundance Film Festival. Just in time for Friday night, here are three reasons to experiment with evening nudes with a hint of color.
