You Are Getting Very Sleepy: DJ Michel Gauberts Soundtrack for a Better Nights Rest

beauty sleep

At a time when extreme technological stimulation is sparking a larger conversation about the importance of sleep’s role in health and beauty—from your skin’s ability to repair itself to your mind’s best chance to reboot and prepare for creative thinking—we need all the help we can get catching more highly valuable z’s.

According to fashion’s favorite sound designer, Michel Gaubert, music is one way to get there. Before he was producing runway mixes for boldface brands from Chanel to Louis Vuitton and garnering fans for his innate sense of cool and legendary social media updates, the busy French DJ would lull himself into a dream state with “I Go to Sleep” by the Pretenders playing as his head hit the pillow. “It helped me go to sleep when I was working in clubs,” says Gaubert.

With this in mind, Gaubert assembled a custom playlist for Vogue of sleep-themed tunes designed to usher in a solid night of beauty rest. Below, press play and let the mix transport you that much closer to your dreams.

Vogue’s Soundtrack to Beauty Sleep:

1. Crocodiles / “Sleep Forever”
2. The Pretenders / “I Go to Sleep”
3. Jamie xx / “Sleepsound”
4. Propaganda / “Dream Within a Dream”
5. Dusty Springfield / “I Close My Eyes and Count to Ten”
6. Simple Minds / “New Gold Dream (81/82/83/84)”
7. My Bloody Valentine / “When You Sleep”
